The La Figuera wildfire originated in an area characterised by a steep slope, dense forest cover and a high availability of fuel. These factors facilitated the initial spread of the fire, with the spotting up to 100 metres, ROS up to 2,400m/h, and with flame lengths reaching up to 25m. The prompt and appropriate decision-making of the firefighting service, in conjunction with vineyards, enabled the fire to be contained, with an area of less than 20 hectares affected.
